Kinship Partners will be holding their annual Taste of the Lakes for the 25th time on November 18 at the Gull Lake Center at Grand View Lodge in Nisswa.
The event is the primary fundraiser for Kinship Partners - a nonprofit youth mentoring organization serving families in the region surrounding Brainerd and Baxter. Last year the event raised over $50,000 and every penny goes to benefit their programs.
Every year chefs from the finest restaurants and catering companies in the Brainerd lakes area provide a sampling of their best cuisine. Buffet stations are set up and guests can line up to sample a selection of appetizers, salads, entrees, desserts and coffees. There will also be wine and beer tasting.
Auctions are also a part of the evening. Local artists donate pieces for an art auction, gift baskets are up for a silent auction, and there is a live auction for some special items.
Kinship refers to the evening's events as "bid a little, eat a little, bid a little, eat a little."
Restaurants participating this year include Black Bear Lodge & Saloon, Ernie's On Gull, Famous Dave's, Iven's On The Bay, Jake's City Grille, The Lodge at Brainerd Lakes, Matty's, Prairie Bay Grill and many more.
Tickets are $75 but according to the Kinship website the event is sold out - but you can get on a waiting list. Keep the event in mind for next year!
