Farm of Plenty, a community owned farm near Randall, is holding their third annual "5 Stars In The Field" dinner on August 13. The event begins at 6pm and features a tour of the farm, social hour, silent auction - and a dinner prepared by five area chefs.
The chefs this time around include Thomas Zimmerman from A.T. The Black and White in Little Falls, Tom Kavanaugh from Kavanaugh's Sylvan Lake Resort in Brainerd, Justin Bolz-Andolshek from Lakes Latte in Pequot Lakes, Daniela Sutin from Grand View Lodge in Brainerd and Matt Annand from Prairie Bay in Brainerd.
The five course foord and wine dinner serverd under a tent is limited to 100 guests. Tickets are $50 and can be purchased at the Crow Wing Food Co-op or online at www.farmofplenty.com.
Proceeds from the dinner are being donated to Hunger Free Morrison County, Brainerd's Salvation Army Food Shelf and the Sharing Bread Soup Kitchen in Brainerd.
Farm of Plenty is a CSA, which stands for Community Supported Agriculture. Members purchase shares and in exchange receive fresh produce from the farm. Shares are sold for different growing seasons. For the current summer season you could receive thirteen weeks of organic veggies for $400.
Farm of Plenty has sold all their shares for 2011, but you can be put on a waiting list for 2012.
