Darlene Wilkes says: I, and my entire family, have been fans of Emma Krumbees for many, many years (Belle Plaine location) When the Albertville location opened I enjoyed lunch there and gave it a big thumbs up. I was very disappointed when I returned this last Sunday, August 21, and had a completely unsatisfactory experience. The entire staff was very self-absorbed, talking in groups to each other but paying no attention to customers. The 'Caesar Salad' was one large romaine leaf, not cut through at all, someone chopped at but in a whole piece, served without even a knife to cut it. the salad plate and glass for my ice-tea were taken directly from a hot dishwasher and destroyed what should have been food served cold. The prices have in increase, the portions gone down, the service was rude. I spoke with a friend who lives in Monticello and was a frequent, at least weekly, patron who tells me she has also expressed poor service, higher prices, smaller portions and will no longer be returning. Too bad to let a company with a good reputation go sour as you go into franchising/expansion mode. I'm in food service and have seen this happen so many times, perhaps it can be nipped in the bud and your staff redirected? (Wed, 2011-08-24 10:47)
Anonymous says: I just ate here this morning. It was a rare taken day off of work to spend with my 4 year old daughter. I have eaten here before without much to complain about...but today it was awful. The eggs were a pile of paper thin layers - that were completely tasteless, hard to eat and had no distinction of egg to them. I had expected my apple bread to be french toasted, and came plainly toasted - the price of the platter was ridiculously high for what I received. Not sure that I will return. (Fri, 2011-07-29 11:23)
